What does SG50 mean to you?

Being true blue Singaporeans that are born and breed here, our team is immensely proud of the achievements of Singapore over these past 50 years. Due to her lack of natural resources, the journey to success has not been smooth. Although Singapore is relatively young as compared to other nations, the progress and achievements that Singapore has achieved in half a century is an amazing feat for this little red dot. Beyond celebrating this major milestone, we feel that it is equally important to remember our forefathers who have paved the way to Singapore’s development and success. And that, is what SG50 means to us.

Now that the competition is coming to an end, how was your experience?

We joined this competition with the aim of learning more about the history behind the birth of a local enterprise and that factors that contributed to its success. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for us to contribute a small part in the celebration of the Singapore's 50th birthday. 

Prior to the competition, we are aware of the existence of Bok Seng Logistics but did not have much in-depth knowledge about what services Bok Seng provides or the past projects it was involved in. As such, we had expected to work closely with Bok Seng through this competition, and in the process learn about the workings behind a SME.

True to our expectations, the past month of communication and collaboration with Bok Seng has given us a taste of what it feels like to work within a local enterprise. Our company tour around Bok Seng’s compound and newly-acquired shipyard had been an eye-opening experience into the logistics industry.

Having worked hard during these short 2 months (shuttling to Tuas for company meetings, refilming our video countless times, having impromptu Google hangout sessions, putting our artistic talents to test, being thick-skinned in spreading our social media content to garner followers and likes etc), we are definitely excited to showcase our finished products to the audience. We absolutely look forward to exhibition day and we hope that the general public would have as much fun and learning about Bok Seng as we do!

All in all, it has been an enjoyable process of close collaboration with Bok Seng, where employees across the board are extremely supportive and encouraging of our work, lending us their expertise, knowledge and resources whenever needed.

Our Products

Ever wondered how logistic companies can play an integral role in our daily lives? If the answer is yes, our exhibition booth can help you to gain an insight into how Bok Seng Logistics has improved people’s lives!

Our finished product includes a  video, a photo booth, fun facts game as well as three posters.

1) Video

The video seeks to convey to the public the history of Bok Seng, the services it provides as well as some of its past projects that it was involved in. The video also touches on the growth and succession of Bok Seng, to illuminate how Bok Seng has evolved over the years under the dynamic context of Singapore.

To break away from the common perception that logistics is a dry and mundane industry due to its complex processes and technical terms involved, our video was filmed using hand-drawn cartoon images and narrated in simple layman terms to allow the general public to better comprehend Bok Seng’s workings. Through our light-hearted video, we hope to reach out to a greater audience, attracting and capturing the attention of both children and adults alike.

2) Photo booth

Set against the landscape backdrop of the iconic Supertrees in Singapore, the 2D Bok Seng crane in the foreground and an assortment of hand-held props are designed to capture the attention of the exhibition visitors to drop by our booth amidst all the other exhibitors.

To further heighten the experience of our booth visitors, we also designate a fun facts game corner. Visitors can experience operating a mobile toy crane to hook up a box from a container of boxes. Apart from having the opportunity to try out how cranes really work in real life, the random fun fact attached to each box will educate the visitors about Bok Seng.

Through such fun and interactive mediums, we hope to bring awareness of the Bok Seng brand to the general public.

3) Posters

Deviating from corporate posters with serious and wordy content and in alignment with our video style, our three posters aim to convey Bok Seng’s history, some of the vehicles it possesses and lastly some of its past projects and current services in a reader-friendly format. As such, the posters feature hand-drawn cartoons coupled with enlarged, bold keywords that serve to put forward information on Bok Seng at a glance.

Why should the public vote for you over others?

We believe that all the groups have put in a comparable amount of effort in making their products. However what sets us apart from the rest is that we have put ourselves in the shoes of the public when we were brainstorming on our final product. Logistics is complicated and encompass many aspects. We have considered this and made our products fun, engaging and easy to understand from the eyes of the general public, while at the same time not missing out on the key essence of what logistics is. The passion we have towards this project and the great lengths we are willing to venture to obtain success can also be seen by the amount of quality products we have created in such a short span of time. The countless late nights we have pulled to discuss about this project and the sweat we have shed as we toiled on our products will not be for naught if the public is able to have a deeper understanding and interest in Bok Seng Logistics from our exhibition.
